  • What is the difference between smoked and clear glass?
    Smoked glass is by far the most popular choice. While beautiful when the fire is burning, it also helps to hide unsightly dirty fireplaces when not in use. Clear glass must be cleaned much more often. At this time we are offering the smoked glass for no extra charge.

  • Does the Mr. Flame Fireplace Door only come in a black finish?
    Yes, it comes standard with black handles and knobs. Optional polished brass handles and knobs are available.

  • Is it ok to expose the insulation on the back of the door to the fire on the inside of the fireplace?
    Yes, the insulation on the back of the door is made of a special fire proof fiberglass that will not catch fire.

  • How will my door be shipped?
    All fireplace doors are shipped FedEx Ground. Each door is packaged with an outer box to assure safe delivery.

  • Will the Mr. Flame Fireplace Door fit my fireplace opening?
    The Mr. Flame Fireplace Doors will fit an opening of 34" to 46" wide and 21" to 35" tall.

  • Can I burn with the fireplace doors closed?
    When used with a wood burning fireplace you can burn with the doors open or closed. There are draft slides at both top and bottom of the glass door. When fireplace door is installed on a gas fireplace, the doors must remain open when in use.

  • Why does this door have 2 draft slides?
    This door is unique in that there is a draft slide on the top of the door as well as the bottom of the door. This puts you in charge of the air flow into the fireplace which allows you to control the burn of the wood and eliminate smoky fireplace issues.
